United HealthCare and HCA Negotiations

United Health Care is in active discussions with HCA-HealthONE to renew their long-standing relationship so that our members have continued access to HCA-HealthONE’s hospitals and physicians in the Metro Denver area of Colorado. If they are unable to reach an agreement, HCA-HealthONE’s providers and hospitals will be out of network for members enrolled in employer-sponsored commercial plans and individual and family plans, Medicare Advantage, including Group Retiree plans, as well as our Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP), effective Sept. 1, 2024.

I have received lots of calls, email and text regarding the HCA (HealthOne) negotiations with UnitedHealth Care Medicare Advantage plans.

First, let me say I dislike these notifications as nothing is set in stone yet and they seem to create more chaos than good. I also hate how these hospitals and carries can do negotiations mid-year when you all cannot change plans. However, the carrier is required by law to send them- so here we are :)

United HealthCare has a website for updates regarding the negotiations that can be found at: uhc.com/HCAColorado. Right now we are in a "wait and see" timeline . You all will receive communication when they come, or don't come, to an agreement. Which I would be shocked if they didn't come to an agreement but time will tell. In an unlikely event that they do not come to an agreement, we are approaching AEP (Annual Enrollment Period) where you can review and switch plans if needed.
