Humana and AdventHealth

Most of you I have spoken with, you can disregard, but for those I have not. I wanted to send a quick note as we start the 2024 year. Some Centura health and Advent Health locations (they have been purchased by a new owner) will no longer be in network with Humana, some of you may have received letters from your doctors notifying you of this change.

From January 1 through March 31st we are in what is called Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP). Anyone currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C of Medicare) can make a one time change to their plan. If we meet in January and decide to change to a different carrier and submit an application the change to the new plan will happen on February 1st. If we meet in February and submit the application the plan will change on March 1 – so the first of the month following the application submission.
Let me say that this is NOT a significant development for most people because Advent Health is a small part of the Denver Metro healthcare scene. So, the vast majority of the people reading this email can very confidently stay with Humana for 2024.
But if you doctor is an Advent Health EMPLOYED physicians particularly around Porter, Littleton Hospital or Parker Adventist, the better part of wisdom is to change Medicare Advantage plans for 2024. We need can do this during OEP January 1 through March 31st.
